Indigo McAlister joined the POVA Artist Collective in March 2019 and says art has been important all of their life. Indigo's preferred medium is pencil/ink and fabric. Indigo often represents sci-fi and fantasy images in their work and says these subjects give inspiration and are cathartic providing a “refuge for the times that were too painful to be in the real world.”
Indigo was homeless for 2 years before securing housing in 2018. Mostly self-taught, Indigo has an insatiable drive to learn. Indigo's goals include attending art school and being able to support their self with art to the point of no longer needing government assistance.
